After about one and a half days and a night of rain, I entered Izumi. Some small Japanese cities are fun to go through. Waterlogged, I booked a small room in a business hotel for a warm, dry room and a hot bath.
Though still cloudy and occasionally rainy, Izumi had Cherry Blossoms!
...did I mention rain gear?
